KAAREN'S COAT PATCH
Updates:
| I’ve been working on the patch pretty regularly and am about ¾ done with it. I have worked my way in on each half of each tine using two lines of each color, darkest to lightest, in split stitch. The effect is almost like little purple flames. | ![]() |
| All done! That didn’t take terribly long to do. I really like how it turned out, little tiny purple flames. | ![]() |

| I had a chance to see others that had been completed before mine, and they are amazing. They are exactly what Catherine had wanted to see, in that they are all different. I cannot wait to see them all complete and on Kaaren’s cloak, which won’t happen until mid-August. I will make sure to get a picture of the patch on the finished cloak when it’s available. |
The coat is nearing completion and will be presented to Kaaren at this Sunday’s kingdom officer’s meeting. I look forward to going and taking pictures of the coat being presented to Her Majesty. Catherine Lorraine sent me a picture of the near-completed coat; my patch is on the left sleeve as you’re looking at it: |

Purgatorio has long since been over, but now that the pictures are starting to come out, I'd like to share a couple with the world. I had asked Lady Gelis to take some pictures of Kaaren's other coat, as well as the chains of state, and along with doing that she got pictures of Kaaren's duschessing ceremony. Happily, Kaaren wore the coat this patch is on, so we got some nice pictures of the coat on her. Here are a couple that Gelis took during the ceremony, which show how to coat fits on her as well as a closeup of one of the patches. |

CREDITS
The first five pictures on this page were taken by myself between 6/15 and 7/2/2007. The picture of the patch was taken by Catherine Lorraine, who gave me permission to reuse the picture in an e-mail sent on 7/10/2006. The last two pictures were taken by Gelis. |
