DARKWOOD TAPESTRY PANEL #2
In early January 2007, Catherine Lorraine asked me if I would be willing to take up one of the outstanding panels for the Darkwook Tapestry project. Of course, I agreed. She had gotten it to a point where it was 75% completed, when she started feeling very allergic to the wool. I picked it up right where she left off and completed the panel. I don’t remember how long it took me; I started writing this report in early February 2007, and it’s mid-September 2007 now! However, I do know that I got it done in time, and that all panels were sewn together by bands of tablet weaving that Theiadora Groves wove. Catherine and Isela di Bari were extremely graceful under pressure and managed to get this project done before the 20th anniversary of the Barony of Darkwood. As I was in Hawaii at the time I could not attend the unveiling. But I’ve since seen the tapestry and it is an amazing feat of organization and long, hard work. Bravo to everyone who pitched in! |
